I had been searching for ages! This is a THICK mat and just what I needed for my apartment workouts. I put it under my think regular yoga mat and wrap them up together when I put them away so I can't attest to the grip as I have the other mat on top. My exercises are quieter and aren't painful on my bones anymore. I get a little wobbly for balance exercises but that's to be expected for a thick foamy mat like this, it isn't firm like a rock.
